How to Choose a Major (In-Person)

With over 180 majors and certificates at UW-Madison, how do you choose? The Career Exploration Center is dedicated to helping you navigate your major and certificate decisions. In this in-person workshop, we will use guided activities and conversation to answer many of the popular questions around majors and certificates, such as:
- What majors and certificates does UW offer and how do I learn more about what they entail?
- How do I know if a major or certificate is a good fit for me?
- How do I explore majors that are interesting to me while still graduating on time?
- How do I choose classes if I am not sure of my major?
- How do I figure out what kinds of careers I might do with the majors I am considering?
- I think I want to go to graduate school (medical, law, etc.); how do I know which major is best?
- I have some career ideas, but how do I pick a major to achieve them?
In addition to answering these questions, we will leave space for you to ask your own! We look forward to meeting you!
