Dr. Ryan Bouchard is happy to be joining the Career Exploration Center!
In his role, Ryan provides identity-informed holistic career advising, coaching, mentoring, and student success support to all UW students. Ryan coordinates large scale events, workshops, retreats, and partners with campus constituents such as DDEEA, Housing, and others to go to all students with interactive opportunities for students to explore their career path.
Dr. Bouchard originally came to UW–Madison in 2000 and served in a variety of roles in University Housing. He then had the opportunity to serve as Associate Dean of Students and Asst. Vice President for Student Development at Edgewood College, where he oversaw primary student development departments such as residence life, first year experience, orientation, student activities, and judicial affairs. From 2016 to 2019, Dr. Bouchard added to his student affairs experience as Senior Associate Dean for Student Life at Beloit College with oversight over areas such as academic advising, disability services, academic integrity, as well as residence life and judicial affairs. Dr. Bouchard has spent the last 3 and a half years serving as the Student Services Coordinator for UW’s largest scholarship program; the Mercile J. Lee Scholars Program and is now elated to be coming to the CEC.
Dr. Bouchard has over 20 years of experience in student affairs administration focused on talent management, supervision, budget management, training, program development and assessment, title ix compliance, and direct student support.
He earned his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Edgewood College, as well as a master’s degree in Higher Education and College Student Personnel from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree in History and Secondary Social Studies Education from the University of St. Thomas.
In his personal time, Ryan has coached over 30 youth sports teams in the Madison area including soccer, softball, basketball, baseball, and flag football. He loves playing with his three kids and hanging with his golden retriever.
